Patterson Rites Were Wednesday, Baptist Church
Services for R.L. Patterson, 44, were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist church and burial was in the Carnegie cemetery under direction of the Pitcher Funeral home. Rev. W.F. Crow, Baptist pastor, conducted the services.
Patterson, a long time resident of the Cedar Dale community east of town, died Monday, Nov. 7 after a serious illness of many years. He attended school at Cedar Dale as a boy and later was clerk of the school board for many years. He was a member of the Baptist church and was active in attendance as long as his health permitted.
Raymond Lee Patterson was born at Cleburne, Texas, Feb. 25, 1911, and came with his parents to the home community of Cedar Dale at an early age. He was married to Theola Bergdorf Nov. 18, 1933 and to them were born five children.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Theola Patterson, of the home; a son, Ronald Lee; and four daughters, Mrs. Earl Chapman, Fort Worth, Texas; and Roberta Ann, Leota Louise, and Frances Pearl, all of the home.
Also surviving are his father, Neal Patterson, and three sisters, Mrs. G.A. Beene, Mrs. L.C. Rogers and Mrs. A.B. Calvery, all of Cleburne, Texas; and three brothers, Olin of Cleburne; Bill of Lookeba; and Elmo, of Carnegie, and many other near relatives.
