Funeral service for Edith Z. Davis, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2001 at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Milas Y. Sease III and the Rev. James C. Parham III. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 this evening, July 25, 2001 the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull St., Columbia, SC 29201. Mrs. Davis, widow of Hugh Franklin Davis, died Monday, July 23, 2001. Born in Lone Star, she was a daughter of the late William Jefferson Zeagler and Mamie Everleen Shirer Zeagler. Mrs. Davis was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Columbia Hospital School of nursing and was previously employed as a private duty Registered Nurse. Surviving are her son, Hugh F. 'Buck' Davis Jr. of Columbia; sisters, Louise Andrews of Decatur, GA, Gladys Allen and Evelyn Thacker, both of Columbia; five nieces; and eight nephews; and a very special friend, Mae Eddins of Columbia. © 2001 Shives Funeral Home
