Silas C. Roupe, 73, of West Waynesburg, died suddenly at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 1955 at his home.
He was born on March 27, 1882, in Greene County, a son of the late Samuel and Antoinette Grey Roupe. He was married twice. His first wife was Jessie Marie Crawford Roupe who died in 1943. His second wife, Charity Ward Roupe, died in 1953. He spent most of his life in Greene County.
The deceased is survived by the following children by his first marriage: Mrs. Irene Rumble of Taylortown; Mrs. Caroline Hamner, Midland, Texas; Mrs. Nellie Wood, Washington; Theodore Ernest Roupe, of Washington, R. D. 1; Ernest Roupe, Pontiac, Mich.; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, George Roupe, Waynesburg, R. D. 4. He is preceded in death by one sister.
He was a member of the Church of God, West Waynesburg. He was employed by Jessup Steel.
