Dietrich and Caroline (Wilkin)Wenke were married in Twellbach, Germany in 1873. They immigrated to America with their children, Hannah, Herman and Charles, arrived in New York aboard the Neckar in 1880. Their first home was in Hooper, Nebraska area where a daughter, Lizzie was born, who died in her early adult life
They moved to Knox County in the 1890's first settling on a farm near Wausa, NE, where their children grew up. Later they moved to a farm north of Bloomfield where they lived until Dietrich's health failed and they were unable to farm. At that time they moved to a house on the Anders farm west of Lindy where the Anders children cared for them.
Children, grandchildren and great grand children of Hannah (Fred Anders), Herman (Louise Lange) and Charley (Selma Johnson) are residents of the Bloomfield community.
