Ned's parents were Nathan Louis and Bertha Bratton Abraham. Ned was single with one year of high school, working as a carpenter, when he was drafted into the US Army on 18 March 1941 in Silver City, Grant, New Mexico. While serving with 515th Coastal Artillery Regiment in the Philippines, he was taken as a prisoner of war by the Japanese and suffered through the Bataan Death March. Ned then was transported to Camp Hoten in Mukden, Manchuria,(present day Shenyang, China)aboard the Tottori Maru, a Japanese "hell ship". He died at Camp Hoten. Military Serial Number 38011938.
