Richard Achey, 61, of Solon, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, at Brosh Chapel in Solon, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 22, at Brosh Chapel in Solon. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery, Clarence, Iowa, with full Military Honors conducted by the Solon American Legion Stinocher Post #460. A luncheon will be served at the Solon American Legion following the services.

Richard Achey was born December 11, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Earl and Ada (Harmon) Achey. He proudly served in the U.S., Navy from 1964 to 1975. He was employed with American Gaming. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He was a member of the Solon American Legion.

Surviving are two sisters, Bettie (Virgle) Van Amburg of Norwalk and Karen (Keith) Dennis of Clarence; one brother, Robert (Carol) Achey of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Phillip Van Amburg.
