Cyntha Ann Pullen was the daughter and one of 15 children born to Abraham B. Pullen and Cynthia (Sulcer) Pullen, she was born before 28 Jun 1838 in Breckenridge county, Kentucky. Her father, Abraham was born about 1791 / 1792 in Shenandoah county, Virginia, he married on 23 Dec 1818 in Hardin, Kentucky to Cynthia Sulcer the daughter of William Mathias Sulcer, whom was born about 1756 in New Market, Shenandoah county, Virginia and died on 14 Dec 1836 in Greene county, Indiana and his wife Jane Johnston, whom was born 20 Jan 1774 in Wythe county Virginia and died Bet. 1848-1850 in Greene county Indiana, William and Jane Sulcer were married on 13 Aug 1793 in Wythe county, Virginia.

Cynthia (Sulcer) Pullen, the wife of Abraham Pullen was born about 1801 in Shenandoah county, Virginia and died after 12 Jun 1880 in Plattin, Jefferson county, Missouri, and Abraham died on 01 Jul 1863 in Sainte Genevieve, Sainte Genevieve county, Missouri. Abraham was the son of George Pullen, whom has born 1759 in Shenandoah county, Virginia and died on 16 Jun 1845 in Breckenridge county, Kentucky, and Nancy Elizabeth (Dotson) Pullen, whom was born in 1769 in Shenandoah county, Virginia and died on 12 Apr 1860 in Breckenridge county, Kentucky. George and Nancy were married on 12 May 1785 in Shenandoah county, Virginia. George Pullen fight in the Revolutionary War and his son Abraham fight in the War of 1812.

Cyntha Ann Pullen married Henry Davis, 11 Jun 1854 in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. Their 1st child, William E. Davis was born August, 1854 in Missouri. They removed to Wisconsin by 1858 where their 2nd child, Martha Ann Davis, was born. By 1859, they were probably in Wabasha, Minnesota where children, Frank Davis, abt 1859, and Mary L. Davis, abt.1861 were born. Henry Davis along with Clark and Henry Congdon mustered in to Company H, 5th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry, December 24, 1861. While in service, Henry Davis died in St. Louis, Missouri, November 20, 1862 Leaving Cynthia a widow with 4 small Children. Between February 14, 1863 and the birth of her daughter Dora Ann Congdon, May 14, 1864, she married the recently widowed Benjamin Reynolds Congdon (father of Clark & Henry Congdon, above).

They removed to Wasioja, Dodge, Minnesota, where they had Dora Ann Congdon, 14 May1864 and Benjamin Franklin Congdon on 03 Apr 1867. Their son Charles Ulysses Congdon was born in Blue Earth, Faribault, Minnesota on 04 Jul 1869. Cyntha and Benjamin might have already separated at the time of Charles birth, they were divorced by March 1870, when Benjamin married Adeline Green in Mantorville, Dodge county. Benjamin and Adeline Congdon were enumerated in the 1870 US Census, Concord township, Dodge county, Minnesota, page 690 - 91. Dora and Benjamin were living with them, Charles was not. He was enumerated with his mother Cynthia in the 1870 US Census: page 8, Schedule 1. Lake Crystal, Blue Earth county, state of Minnesota, July 20, 1870. Cyntha died at age 37, on 28 Jun 1875 at Lake Crystal, Blue Earth, Minnesota and was buried in Valley Cemetery, Shakopee, Scott, Minnesota. Cyntha is buried next to her daughter Dora Ann (Congdon) Boardman.
