Cpl. Ollie Melton was a member of the 5th Division of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He took part in many of the battles in the Pacific. Jack was a member of the 26th replacement battalion, H1, 3Rdbn, 27Thmar, 5Th mardiv, He was killed in action on the first day of the Invasion of Iwo Jima.
