Laura Mae "Skeets" Dickinson, 93, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of De Soto, died June 8, 2010, in Nashville. Mrs. Dickinson was a teacher at the Huskey, Moontown, Flucom and Grandview schools. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Eastern Star. A star athlete at De Soto High School in the early 1930's, she earned a number of trophies in track and basketball. Born Feb. 14, 1917, in De Soto, she was the daughter of John M. and Laura (Pogue) Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Dickinson.

She is survived by one child, John (Ann) Dickinson of Nashville, Tenn.; and one grandchild, Amy (Michael) Burrow of Nashville. She was preceded in death by two siblings: John Williams and Minnie Dierks.

Funeral services were held June 12 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, officated by the Rev. Gene Moses. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to P.R.I.D.E. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
