A private funeral was held for Burton Plummer, 62, former Minnewaukan resident, who died Thursday in Marine City, Mich.
Services were held at the home of his mother, Mrs. Laura Plummer, in Minnewaukan. Rev. Fred Schaefer officiated and burial was in the Minnewaukan Cemetery.
Mr. Plummer was born March 31, 1907, at Minnewaukan, where he was reared. He graduated from Jamestown College and received a master's degree from University of Michigan. He taught school at Fordville and Oberon in North Dakota and in Potterville and Marine City in Michigan.
On June 23, 1946, he married Muriel Dyhrman at Duluth. He was a member of the First Methodist Church choir and men's club of the church. He taught Sunday school and was a member of Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge in Marine City. He was also a member of local and national education associations.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, a son, James in Vietnam; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Wertenberger of Minnewaukan, Mrs. Eunice Rognlie of Hudson, Wisc., and Mrs. Edwin Frey of Stewartsville, N.J.; and a brother, Garvin of Minnewaukan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carrol, and his father, Clarence F. Plummer.
Burke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
