Bessie E. Lewis

Ill for one and one-half years, Bessie Estella Lewis, 77, Mooresville, died Monday, Dec. 18, 1989, at her residence. Mrs. Lewis lived most of her life in Morgan County, but spent summers in Florida.

The daughter of William and Martha Russell Anderson, she was born Feb. 19, 1912, in Morgan County. She married Gilbert Lewis, who preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1980.

Other survivors include a son, Robert Lewis of Brownsburg; two daughters, Mary Louise Call of Mooresville and Marcia Noblitt of Clermont; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The homemaker was a member of the Mount Gilead Church.

The Rev. Jeff Faull will conduct the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral at Mount Gilead Church, with burial to follow in the Mount Olive Church cemetery.

Calling will be Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. and one hour before service time on Saturday at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville.
