The founder of Tennessee Valley Electric Supply Co. died of heart failure Saturday at his home. Services for Lowell Ellis 'Red' Salmon, 88, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Second Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon, with burial in Memorial Park. Salmon and his wife started with $1,200 his electrical wholesale company from their Pontotoc, Miss., home during the Depression. When World War II ended TVESCO expanded throughout the South with offices in Nashville, Knoxville and Little Rock. Mr. Salmon was former president of Memphis Electric League and served as one of four members of the War Production Board in Washington during World War II. He also was a member of University Club, the Summit Club and Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs, and was a former member of Chickasaw Country Club.
