Natalie Louise (Tuttle) Lane, age 73, of Spicewood, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2003 in South Austin Hospital. She was born on April 15, 1930 in Poteet, Texas to Alice Louise (Clements) Tuttle and Charles Ray Tuttle. She studied dance and piano and graduated from Poteet High School. She received a bachelor's degree in music from Southwest Texas State at San Marcos. While there, she met her future husband, Robert Clay Lane, who played in the band. They were married on June 24, 1949. After graduation, they moved to Sabinal where he took a job as high school band director and she taught 3rd grade. They enjoyed dances at Garner State Park and returned there for a reunion, meeting old friends. The couple moved to Pasadena and bought a house there. Her husband took a job with Humble Oil in Houston and she taught 3rd grade at Genoa Elementary in Pasadena until their only child was born. She returned to teaching when their daughter was old enough to attend school Mrs. Lane taught elementary music, fulfilling one of her goals. She took great pleasure in making costumes for her daughter's dance recitals and attending football games and concerts when their daughter joined the school band. In later years, she delighted in visiting her grandchildren, sending them to camp and taking them to movies, swimming and shopping. She was a great sports fan. Her health began to fail two years ago and she moved to an assisted living facility near her daughter's family. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Tracey Nafziger and husband Edward of Spicewood, Texas; two sisters, Charlene Shoulders of Elgin and Alice Williams of Pflugerville; two grandchildren, Breana Nafziger and Charles Robert Nafziger.
