Ann Millis Frazer was born in Guilford County, North Carolina in 1817 to Quaker parents, Henry and Mary Frazer. As part of the Quaker migration rejecting slavery in North Carolina, she moved to Indiana with her parents.
In 1839 she was married to Henry O. Way. They lived in Indiana, until they moved to Iowa in 1855, then back to Indiana in 1867. They stayed another 18 years in Indiana before moving west to California.
Ann was an advocate for women's suffrage and temperance.
She was a prolific writer, writing letters, journals, poetry and more.
