JAMES K. POLK GRIBBLE

OREGON CITY, Or., Dec. 4.-(Special.) - James K. Polk Gribble, well known pioneer of Oregon, died at his home near Aurora Saturday November 28. Mr. Gribble was born near Warrensburg, Johnson County, Missouri, 81 years ago and crossed the plains with his parents in 1846. He wintered at Arthur Prairie, Clackamas County. In the spring of 1847 the family moved to the donation land claim on Gribble Prairie where Mr. Gribble has since resided. Mr. Gribble on May 22, 1872 married Marry E Irvin, who, with the following children, survive; Mrs. Alberta Winches, of Portland. Lane L., Earl R., Wade and Miss Amy Gribble of Aurora; Mrs. Viola Hochtritt, Portland; Mrs. Lillian Farley, Seattle, Wash.; James Land, Eugene S. Gribble, Aurora; Mrs. Lois Irish and Mrs. Blanche Groshong of Portland, besides 19 grandchildren. The funeral services were held Monday and interment was in Gribble Cemetery.
