HIS NICKNAME WAS NEVER "IKE" WHICH SOME HAVE TAKEN FROM HIS 1910 CENSUS WHERE HE IS LISTED AS IHE M. JONES. HE NEVER WENT BY IKE. HIS NICKNAME WHICH IS ON HIS HEADSTONE WAS "DOCK."

Ithamer Moses Jones was the 2nd son of William Fowler Jones and Ellen Louise "Eleanor" Singletary Gabriel Jones. His parents were both previously married and each lost their 1st spouses during the Civil War.

In the mid 1890's Ithamer moved from Waco, Texas to Montague County, Texas.

Ithamer and Willie (Romines) were married 3 August 1898 in Montague, Montague County, Texas in a double wedding ceremony with Daisy May Romines (Willie's older sister) and John Burl Reed.

Some of the professions Ithamer pursued throughout his life were: rural mail carrier, owner of a general merchandising and milling store, Justice of the Peace, farming, Vice President of the 1st bank in Forestburg, Texas, secretary and member of the school board, and secretary of the Woodmen of the World and the International Order of the Odd Fellows.

Ithamer was my great grandfather . . . I wish I had known him. FAG Member casteelroots.
