The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Thomas Todd. Burial will follow in Hedrick's Grove United Church of Christ Cemetery with military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowers was born on Dec. 29, 1932, in Davidson County to Luther Allen Bowers and Fannie Belle Swing Bowers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Ashemore Business College and co-owner of Bowers Construction Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kimbal Lane Bowers.
Surviving are wife Rebecca Ann Lovell Bowers of the home; sons, Marty Bowers and Darren Bowers and wife Leigh, all of Lexington; three stepgrandchildren, Taylor Clark, Lauren Clark and Ethan Clark; sister Frances Biesecker of Lexington; and half sister Ruby Mae Smith of Lexington.
