Everett Ray Miller, 72, of Brazil, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 1, 1934 in Brazil to August and Gertrude Turpin Miller. Following graduation from Brazil High School he attended Indiana State University. He married Kay Lynn Holland Aug. 20, 1960. He served in the U.S. Army with the Signal Corps until his honorable discharge in 1963.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Lynn Miller; one son, Christopher Miller and wife Lisa, of Brazil; one daughter, Autumn R. Cornwell and husband Tony, of Brazil; two sisters, Betty Maurey and Shirely Miller, both of Brazil; two brothers, Dorman "Bud" Miller, of Brazil and Bob Miller, of Carbon; and five grandchildren, Kendall G. Miller, Brodee L. Miller, Eden S. Cornwell, Ethan A. Cornwell and Cydnee M. Cornwell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
During his high school years he worked at his family owned grocery and later at the West End Store. He worked for 30 years at Bridgeport/Olin Brass until his retirement. He was a member of Good Tiding Tabernacle and loved being in church, spending time with his family and riding in his Jeep.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Good Tiding Tabernacle, 403 N. Hoosier Street in Brazil with the Rev. Buddy Kline officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton. Should friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Gideons, P.O. Box 271, Brazil IN 47834.
