In 1857 Sarah was united in marriage to Burl Cayton.

Sarah and Burl celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on July 1, 1919, and Burl died October 17th the same year, at age 80 years.
After Burl's death, Sarah lived with her daughter, Alfretta until she passed away in 1928.
