It is with hurting hearts and deep sadness that the family of Randy Reid announces his sudden passing on June 30, 2010 in his home. The family will receive friends and family Friday July 2, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home from 5pm until 9pm. Services are scheduled Saturday July 3, 2010 for 10am at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Burial will immediately follow in Consolata Cemetery. Randy was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and McNeese State University. He was a Middle School Coach in the Calcasieu Parish School system at both Ray D. Molo Middle School and F.K. White Middle School for a total of thirty years, and had been retired for five years. Randy was an avid fisherman (just one more rig) and sports fan as a LSU season ticket holder. Randy has been a Saints fan since attending games in the first season, as evidenced by the 1967 New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys game in Tulane Stadium. (He still has the ticket stub) He was the son of Sheriff Henry A. Reid Jr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Phillips Reid both of whom preceded him in death. Randy is survived by his wife Mary, son Randy II, brothers Dr. Henry A. (Buck) Reid III and his wife Carol, Richard Lawton Reid, David Edward Reid, and Michael Alexander Reid as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. He will be greatly missed. Any words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
