Actor. Born in Veracruz, Mexico, he appeared in 233 feature films between 1915 and 1958. He began his career stage acting at the Alcazar Theatre in San Francisco and then moved to New York where he started performing on Broadway. He made his big screen debut in the silent film "The Fight" (1915), followed by "Thais" (1917). He went on to have very memorable appearances in films to include "Submarine Patrol" (1939), "The Mummy's Hand" (1940), "Sergeant York" (1941), "Adventures of the Flying Cadet" (1943), "They Were Expendable" (1945) and "The Wings of Eagles" (1957). He died at age 85 in Los Angeles, California.
