Cliffie Dee "Grandie" Jackson, 89, of Lake Creek died Thursday, January 4, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center in Paris. Services will be held at 2PM Saturday, January 6, at Lake Creek Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Regan, LeRoy Reaves and Don Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery by Delta Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30PM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Jackson was born August 14, 1906 in the Unitia community of Delta County, a son of Robert Mitchell "Bob" Jackson and Mary Caroline "Mollie" (Whitlock) Jackson. He was a retired farmer, rancher and carpenter. He was a member of Lake Creek Methodist Church. He married Mary Robbie Robbins on September 16, 1935. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mary Dee Mitchell of Lake Creek and Madeline Gail Smiddy of Mesquite; a brother, Wayne Jackson of Cooper; three sisters, Ruby Landers of Paris, Robbie Zetzman of McKinney and Lucy Purcell of Whitehouse; seven grandchildren, Shelby Scarborough, Netti Jones, Teresa Schafer Barcus, Berk Mitchell, Scott Mitchell, Beverly Smiddy and Chad Smiddy; seven great-grandchildren, Chaney, Krin, Kristen, Charla, Paige, Clifton and Tyler; a multitude of cousins, friends and adopted family members. He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Ray Jackson and three brothers, Lewis, Roy and Ellis Jackson. Pallbearers will be Harmon Phipps, Kenward Sims, Ronnie Lehman, Wendell Robbins, David Jackson and Paul Ruppi. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Landers, Roy Lee Jackson, Dwight Stegall, Gaines Price, Hobert Young and Dean Gillean.
