MRS. HARRIET P. KLINGNER
Mrs. Harriet P. Klingner, formerly of Chariton, died at the hospital in Bartonville, Ill., on May 1, 1934, after a brief illness of about ten days with pneumonia.
After a brief service in Henry, Ill., the body was brought to Chariton and funeral services, conducted by Rev. Harry Secor, of the Baptist church, were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial took place in the Chariton cemetery.
Mrs. Klingner was a daughter of William and Caroline Payne, now deceased, and grew to young womanhood in Chariton.
She was married here about fifty-four years ago to David Klingner. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Doris McMains, now of Des Moines, and Fay, who passed away at the age of one and one-half years. Mr. Klingner died several years ago.
Thirteen years ago Mrs. Klingner went to Henry, Ill., where she had since made her home. She had been in failing health for several years. She had been a life long member of St. Andrew's Episcopal church of Chariton, Iowa. She possessed a very cheerful disposition and made many friends wherever she went.
She leaves to mourn their loss her daughter, Mrs. Doris McMains and three grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Payne, of Chariton, and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Brown, of Kansas City, Kansas.
