He attended North Eagle Rural Grade School and Alva High School, where he lettered in football and graduated with the class of 1945. He attended Oklahoma A&M for three years and served with the Oklahoma National Guard.
Donald married June Weaver on Feb. 17, 1961, in DeRidder, La. To their marriage three children, Kay, Jack and Joy were born.
Following their marriage they lived on a farm southwest of Alva. June passed away Oct. 24, 1998.
His hobbies were dancing, hunting arrowheads, fishing, playing dominoes with friends and attending baseball games.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Alva, serving as deacon and elder and served on the Alva Board of Education for several terms.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Don Wiebener; a great-grandson, Cambron Fisk; his parents; and a brother, Verlin.
Don is survived by his three children and their spouses, Kay and George Fisk of Dallas, Texas, and Jack and Dee and Joy and Mike Meier, all of Alva; nine grandchildren, Cary and Roisin Carter, Darren and Meredith Fisk, Megan and Damon Humphrey, Nathan Fisk, Christa Carter, Taylor and Natalie Wiebener, Jeremy Wiebener, Tyler Meier and his fiancé Erin Goss and Trevor and Kenzi Meier; five great-grandchildren, Madison Fisk, Wesley Humphrey, Taylie Wiebener and Dakota and Kaya; a sister-in-law, Betty Wiebener of Alva; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
