FRAZEYSBURG - Lena M. Ramsey, 88, of Perryton, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2006, at the Newark Health Care Center, Newark.
Born Nov. 16, 1917, in Fallsbury Township, Licking County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence S. and Zelda A. Noland Ashcraft. She was a 1936 graduate of Frazeysburg High School, a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church. Mrs. Ramsey was also a member of the Missionary Society of the church and a former member of the Perry Township Historical Society.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, William R. Ramsey, whom she married March 23, 1936; three daughters, Darlene (Charles) Lentz of Frazeysburg, Barbara J. Ramsey of Newark and Carolyn (Stephen) Bretz of Cincinnati; 17 grandchildren, including Rosemary Barboza of Newark; 40 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Darrell R. Ramsey; two brothers, Kenneth and Merideth Ashcraft; and a great-grandson, Antonio Martinez.
Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. today, Nov. 2, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 W. Third St.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at Mount Pleasant Christian Church with the Rev. Karl Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery.
