COOLVILLE - Billie F. Mercer, 56, of Route 2, Little Hocking, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Vienna, a son of the late Melvin and Orpha King Hicks Mercer. He operated the Mercer Trucking Company in Little Hocking.
]He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cole Mercer; one son, William Mercer of Cutler; two daughters, Deborah Ingram of Little Hocking and Kathryn Henson of Centerburg, Ohio; four brothers, Robert Lee Mercer of Richmond, Va., Darrell Mercer of Greenville, S.C., Johnnie and Jimmie Mercer both of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Lera Jones of Sandston, Va.; his stepmother, Evelyn Mercer of Richmond, Va. and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Mercer.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the White-Blower Funeral Home, Coolville, with the Rev. Larry Kennen officiating. Burial will be in the Success Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. today.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
