Eli Milton Thomason was first married to Mary Ann the fall of 1836. After her death, he married: Mariah Allen Oct 31, 1847 Cherokee County, Tx. Their children are: Sarah, Ann, Martha, Mary, Lucinda, James H, John Nathan, Angelina Margaret Thomason Simpson, Dorminda, Victoria Thomason Simpson, Joel Frost, Eli Milton Jr, Delilah Susan, and Mariah Allie.

Served the Republic of Texas under Capt. Stephen William Blount in the Army of Texas 1836. Service continued through 1837.

Eli is listed in book 1, page 17, commissioners court minutes, 1847 Cherokee County, Texas. The minutes state: "Appeared before the Court Eli M. Thomasson and his witnesses David Cook and J.T. Cook and proved to the satisfaction of this Court that he was a resident citizen of the Republic of Texas at the Declaration of Independence and that he contributed to the support & Defence of the Country and that he married in the Republic the fall of 1836 and that he has never received a certificate but for one third of a League of Land as a Headright. It is therefore decided by the Court that he is entitled to an additional quantity of Two Thirds of a League and Labor."
