Chester County Independent, September 4, 1942, reports that USS Ingraham sank in the Atlantic at the end of August after a collision with another vessel, which was caused by a heavy fog. The report also indicated that the Germans were claiming the Ingraham was sunk by a sub attack. --- contributed by Greg Massey.
