Born in the hills of Eastern Kentucky to Floyd and Effie (Fox) Fox. Hurshel moved to Southern Indiana with his wife, Ruth Turner Fox , and the oldest two of three sons (the youngest was born in Indiana) so that his family could have a better lifestyle. He lived the last nineteen years of his life in a wheelchair due to having his right leg amputated from complications of diabetes. A very sweet and loving man that will always be my hero.
