William "Bill" Arthur Hardin, 84, of North Gladstone Avenue, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center.
William was born on Dec. 30, 1925 in Kentucky, the son of James T. and Corellia Webster Hardin.

He was an Army Sergeant 1st class stationed in Panama Canal Zone during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Hamilton Cosco for many years.
William was the coach of the first girls softball team in southern Indiana and won a couple of state championships. He was a fixture at most girls sporting events at both Columbus North and Columbus East.

He is survived by brothers, John T. Hardin, Benjamin F. Hardin, Richard A. Hardin and Todd C. Hardin, all of Columbus; and sisters, Virginia F. Attwood of Augusta, Ga., Florence J. Hall of Columbus, Alice S. Allen of Amarillo, Texas and Marjorie A. Wade of Columbus. William was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell R Hardin, Warren M. Hardin, Guss D. Hardin and James L. Hardin; and sisters, Lavana B. Jackson and Barbara F. Bowles.
