Robert F. Davis, 78, died Wednesday at Baptist Hospital East.
He was a retired certified life underwriter for Commonwealth Life Insurance, co-owner of the old Hartlage Dry Goods Store in Shively, a former employee of The Courier-Journal & Louisville Times Co. and a member of American Society of Certified Life Underwriters.
Survivors: his wife, the former Mary Rose Hartlage; four daughters, Madonna Cecil, Paula Dewsnap, Sarah Levin and Pamela Chapman; a son, John R. Davis; three brothers, John D. Davis of Sweeden, Thomas A. Davis of St. Petersburg, Fla., and C. Joseph Davis; two sisters, Agnes Quinlan of Largo, Fla., and Mary Edna Greenwell; 14 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 512 Breckenridge Lane. Burial: St. Louis Cemetery. Visitation: Arch L. Heady Hikes Point Funeral Home, 4109 Taylorsville Road, noon-9 p.m. Friday.
