Leland Von DeMille, 84, passed away on June 26, 2010 in American Fork, Utah. He was born Sept 16, 1925 in Orderville, Utah, the son of Conrad DeMille and Margaret Anderson. He joined the Navy at age 17 and served his country as ship's cook until WWII ended. He continued his culinary skills at Dick's Café and Sugar Loaf in St. George. He owned Desert Kitchen and finished his career as Bloomington Country Club's Chef. He met Lucille Olds at Dick's Cafe. They married in 1948 and raised a family of three. Leland was a generous man who enjoyed carpentry, music, animals, the outdoors, gardening, and recycling. He never lost his sense of humor.

Leland was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wallace DeMille, sisters Vonda DeMille and Wanda Bowers, and grandson Trenton Murie. Living family include: former wife Lucille Whitlow, children Mary (Ron) Abram, Jan DeMille, Tom DeMille, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, brothers John DeMille and LaMar DeMille, sisters Loa Brinkerhoff and Helen Leavitt, and many kind nieces and nephews.

Services will take place on Saturday July 3, 2010 at 11 AM at the Snow Canyon LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 1625 N. Lava Flow Drive (2400 W) in St. George, Utah with a Viewing there at 10 AM. Leland will be buried with military honors at the Washington City Cemetery.
