LOUIS A BURNS--81: Conneaut, died Tues-day evening[1-17] at StVincent's Health Cntr-Erie PA, where he had been a patient for the past month. He died of cancer. He was born 17 Jun 1896 in ElsaNE, but he had been a res-ident of Conneaut most of his life. He wa s a retired shop superintendent with the former Nickel Plate RR & with the present Norfolk & Western RR. He retired in 1963 after 49yrs of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church-Conneaut. He was also a member of the American RR Superintendents Assn.
Survivors include his son-J Doren (Joe) Burns-Belview; a step-brother: RevEdward Howard-Sharon PA; 4 grandchildren & a gr grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie in 1967; a dau-MrsEleanor Ferantino in 1959; a sister & a brother.
Service will be held Friday afternoon [1-20] at the Thompson Funrl Home-Conneaut; with the RevDavid Freeman-pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Masonic service will be held Thursday evening. Entombment will be made at the mausoleum in Glenwood Cem-Conneaut. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the First United Methodist Church.
