Funeral services for Mr. Maddon were held Thursday morning, July 24, 1980 at 10:30 a.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Honey Grove. The Rev. John Lightfoot, pastor of the McKenzie United Methodist Church in Honey Grove, officiated at the service. Burial was made in the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove with Cooper-Sorrells in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Husley Thompson, Curtis Brown, Grady Carson, Hulen Witcher, Floyd Burgess and John Dickson.
He was born in Booneville, Arkansas on November 15, 1887, the son of Franklin and Kate Clark Maddon.
He married Bessie Sorrells in 1913 in the Dial Community. She preceded him in death in 1934.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and was retired from the City of Lubbock.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Craig of Ladonia; one grandson, Billy Maddon of Leeds, Alabama; and two great-grandchildren, Curtis and Donna Maddon of Tucson, Arizona.
