Ilah Dean Adkins, 77, of Magnolia, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at her home. Daughter of the late Ezra W. Adkins and Edna G. Tucker Adkins, she was born in Green County, Ky., on Aug. 9, 1929. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. She was a LaRue County School teacher for more than 30 years and was a tutor after her retirement. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include a sister, Martha Patterson of Lewisville, Ohio; a brother, John W. Adkins of Pendleton, Ky.; an aunt, Jenny Davenport of Greensburg, Ky.; three nieces; and three nephews. Funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Bro. Gary Talley officiated. The family chose cremation and burial will be in Greensburg Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Magnolia Fire Department. Pallbearers were Billy Milby, John W. Adkins II, William D. Eggers Jr., Buddy Lowe, Jack L. Adkins Jr., Will Aubrey and Vince Adkins.

Ilah Dean Adkins, daughter of the late Ezra W. Adkins and Edna G. Tucker Adkins, was born on Friday, August 9, 1929 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at her home in Magnolia. She was 77 years, 2 months and 19 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. She was a School Teacher for 30 plus years for the Larue County Board of Education. She was also a tutor after retiring and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include a sister: Martha Patterson of Lewisville, Ohio; a brother: John W. Adkins of Pendleton, Kentucky; an aunt: Jenny Davenport of Greensburg; three nieces; three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial funeral service for Ilah Dean Adkins will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. The family chose cremation and there will be burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Bro. Gary Talley will be officiating.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Magnolia Fire Department.
