On Wednesday of last week, August 26, 1891, Miss Julia S. Dorsett, died at the age of 23 years, 11 months, and two days. It was the end of many months of pained suffering under the certain grasp of consumption. The funeral services took place at the Episcopal Church on the morning of the 28th, and then the remains were tenderly borne to the Columbia cemetery, where parents and sister, and friends breathed their last farewell to all that remained on earth and whispered their prayers to Heaven as they left her little home.

Tanja Patton, Supt. of Columbia Cemetery, reports June 2010 that there is no record of this burial in Columbia Cemetery. Her records indicate only two Dorsett burials: William Newman Dorsett, 1895, and Laura Oceola (Winchester) Dorsett, 1919.
