Guy Edward ‘Ed' Cantley

Guy Edward "Ed" Cantley, age 70, of Rock Creek, WV, died Friday, June 25, 2010, at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, VA.

He was born September 21, 1939, at Dry Creek, WV, the son of the late Guy and Stella Richmond Cantley. He was a disabled employee of J.P. Hammer Lumber Company and a U.S. Army veteran.

Ed was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Benton Cantley, and by a sister, Ruby Eskew.

He is survived by six sisters, Marie Dickens and Diann (Ralph) Proudfoot all of Rock Creek, Phyllis Dalton of Ohio, Bonnie Williams of Arnett, Kay (Earl) Terry of Beckley and Ruth (Bobby) Woods of Gallipolis, Ohio; two brothers, Howard (Imojean) Cantley of Medina, Ohio, and Warren (Charlotte) Cantley of Stow, Ohio.

Funeral services for Guy Edward "Ed" Cantley will be conducted Monday, June 28, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Rebecca Chapel Church at Rock Creek with Rev. Earl Snuffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Cantley Family Cemetery at Rock Creek. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #32, Beckley, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Ed will be taken to Rebecca Chapel on Sunday where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m.
