James A. Hampton, 49, of Port Arthur, Texas, died April 19, 1989 at St. Mary Hospital.

A native of Edinburg, Texas, Mr. Hampton had lived in Port Arthur since 1966. He was retired from the United States Air Force.

Funeral services for Mr. Hampton were held 2:00pm Saturday, April 22, 1989 at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves with the Rev. Charles Wolfe officiating. Burial followed at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Surviving relatives are his wife Bernice Hampton, Port Arthur; daughters, Jenny Simmons, Port Arthur, Gayle Gouthier, Port Arthur, and Nita Feemster, LaPorte, Texas, son-in-law, Mike Gouthier, Port Arthur; sister, Linda Aaron, Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Marie Barlow, Michelle Simmons, Mark Simmons, and Michael Gouthier.
Pallbearears were: Trey Barlow, Kenneth Blanchette, Jerry Cannon, Mike Gouthier, Joe Bruce Loupe, Butch Touchette.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Michael L. Gouthier and Mark Simmons.
