Lonnie Stone rites pending
FLORIS - Lonnie Stone Sr., 85, of rural Floris, died at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Orman, northeast of Floris.
Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.
Stone was born July 26, 1898 in Jefferson County, the son of John and Jennie Adams Stone. On April 16, 1920, he married Esther Gladys Adler in Ottumwa. She died in 1976. They farmed in Jefferson and Van Buren counties, moving to the Selma area in 1945, to Mt. Zion in 1968 and returning to Davis County in 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Lonnie Jr. of Floris, Edward of Douds; three daughters, Jane Hudak of Elizabeth, Pa., Norman Orman of Floris, Betty Steele of Bloomfield; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
