Dear was born in Havre and attended schools in Ulm and Cascade. He graduated from Cascade High School in 1982.
He had been employed by Sun River Cattle Co. and C and R Transport. For 1 1/2 years, he was a livestock buyer for Held Beef Industry of Fargo, ND
Survived by his parents, a brother, two sisters, his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandmother.
