Born in Scotland February 25, 1753, Died at Bloomfield, Ohio September 11, 1827. Pioneer Farmer of Jefferson County, Enlisted April 13, 1776 at Sunbury, PA. in Capt. Casper Weitzel's Co. Penna. Rife Regiment, Mustered out Nov 3, 1783, Sgt in Lt. Col. Henry Miller's Co. 2nd Penna. at York, PA.

Taken Prisoner at Long Island wounded at Bradywine served at Germantown, Valley Forge, Monmouth and Yorktown.
