Alvin C. King
Funeral services for Alvin C. King, 74, of Orland, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the F.D. Sweet and Son Mortuary in Orland.
He died Monday at Enloe Hospital in Chico.
King was born Aug. 1, 1913 in Petaluma.
He was a U.C. Berkeley graduate and received his agricultural teaching degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He taught ag in high school for 11 years, including one year at Willows.
An Orland area resident since 1950, King was director of the Federal Land Bank for several years and a member of the Glenn County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma of Orland; a son, Bruce of Chico; three daughters, Patricia Darling and Claudia King, both of Chico, and Sherrill Buttolph of Orland; a sister, Blanch Casarotti of Petaluma; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Rev. Mike Bryan of the First Christian Church will officiate at the service.
Burial will follow in the Orland Oddfellows Cemetery. - Transcribed by E.
