Dorothy H. Olmer, 90, a lifelong resident of Youngwood, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in Hempfield Manor. She was born April 1, 1919, in New Stanton, a daughter of the late Elsworth E. and Mary (Sheets) Fligger. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Youngwood, and Golden Rod Lodge, Youngwood. She formerly worked for the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. Surviving are a sister, Lorene Walthour, of Greensburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick L. Olmer, Jr.; two brothers, Elmer D. Fligger and Homer Fligger; and two sisters, Tillie Backes and Alva Casterwiler. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., 101 S. Fourth St., Youngwood. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Cross Church with the Rev. John S. Szczesny as celebrant. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
