DR. FRANK JACKMAN

Frank Marion Jackman was born on October 23, 1865 in Russell County, Kentucky. When a young man, after a few years as a teacher, he attended the University of Kentucky Medical school at Louisville, where he later graduated. He came to Indian Territory and began to practice medicine at Lynn Marshall County in 1891.

In 1898, Dr. Jackman was united in marriage to Miss Della Hightower. To this union was born four children. Vivian preceded him in death while an infant. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jackman and daughter, Jacqueline, of Ralls, Texas; Vernon Jackman of Meade and Mrs. Berry James of Corsicana, Texas, all were present at the funeral.

Dr. Jackman moved to Mead in 1911 where he has been in active practice, serving hundreds of appreciative patients. Though in bad health for the last six months, Dr. Jackman was apparently feeling well until just a few minutes before his death Sunday morning, June 16th, at 8:00. He died suddenly of a heart attack, while attending a patient, a few miles west of Mead. Dr. Jackman had recently expressed a wish that when his time came to die he would be found at his post of duty. His death was typical of his life of service to his family and community.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the family residence at Mead. Rev. Al Hopkins of Durant conducted the rites. Pallbearers were Dr. Shuler, Dr. Haney, Dr. Rushing, Dr. Austin and Dr. Armstrong. Interment was made in Highland cemetery in Durant, Okla.
