Norma Jean Morlan, 78, of Carbon died Friday, January 02, 2004 at 5:05 AM in Clay County Health Center. She was born September 7, 1925 in Clay County, Indiana the daughter of Manuel Thomas and Ellen Hunter Thomas.
Her husband, Alvin Morlan preceded her in death in 1979. She had been a cook at the Bridgeton Cafeteria.
Survivors include three sons, Clarence Morlan and his wife Julia of Carbon, Gary Morlan of Brazil and Larry Morlan of Clinton; two sisters, Ruth Armstrong and Mary Pickett, both of Brazil; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and four brothers, Bob Thomas, Bill Thomas, Tommy Thomas and Albert Donald Thomas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2004 in French Funeral Home. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date in Clear Run Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home on Monday.
