He was born in Alton, Utah in 1929 to Harriet Heaton and William Gordon Glover. Raised in Las Vegas, Nevada he married his High School sweetheart, wife of 62 years. Mr. Glover attended Brigham Young University and first came to Huntsville in 1963 to work for IBM on the Space Program. Gordon and his wife retired here in 1985. They then moved to Florida and traveled the United States until returning to Alabama (Madison County) in 2006.
He was preceded in death by his son David Glover. He is survived by his wife, LuDean Glover and his three children: Richard Glover of Al; Carol Jameson of FL; Barbara Nelson and son-in-law Paul Nelson of TX, as well as his two sisters Betty Gwilliam of UT and Gloria McAffee of NV. He also has 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Gordon will be cremated and arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June, 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1297 Slaughter Rd., Madison, AL, 256-722-8417. Burial service will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, 202 Maple Hill Drive, Huntsville, Al.
