Robert was the son of Lewis and Mary Fleenor West. He was the husband of Lottie West.

A farmer, he died from kidney cancer at the age of 53 yrs old.

Hillary West was born August 15, 1881, in Texas county, near Houston, and departed this life April 21, 1935, at his home near Solo, his age at time of his going being 53 years, 8 months, 6 days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis West, deceased.

Mr. West was a well known and highly respected citizen, having spent his entire life in the Solo community.

He was converted and joined the New Hope Baptist church about 20 years ago, of which he remained a member until death.

He was united in marriage to Miss Lottie White September 4, 1904. To this union were born two children, Harold and Madge. He leaves to mourn for him his wife, Mrs. Lottie West; one son, Harold West; and daughter, Mrs. Madge Altis; also three sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Effie Gibson, Houston; Mrs. Lettie Fitzgerald, Cabool; Mrs. Ola Lilly, Houston; John West, Henry West and Walter West, all of Houston; and Ed West, Mansfield, Ohio; also grand daughter Bernice Altis, a number of other relatives and many friends. One brother, Arthur, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at New Hope church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. R. Halbrook, of Houston. Interment in New Hope cemetery.

Many friends unite in sympathy to the bereaved ones.
