Casualty of the Great War, Bertram served in the Royal Marine Light Infantry H.M.S. "Dominion." Service No: Chatham/14322.
He was a son of Edward George and Annie Venables, of 172, Beckton Rd., Canning Town, London, England. At the time of the 1901 census he was working as a grocer's errand boy, living with his family at 39 Ohio Road, West Ham.
