Henry Wilkins Gentry, 77, of 1312 Reeves Street in Mena, died Saturday morning in the Polk County Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 25, 1902 at Hatton, Ark., the son of the late Joe Gentry and Mary Reid Gentry.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday morning in the Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Orval Heath and Rev. Scott Malone officiating. Interment was in the Witherspoon Cemetery at Vandervoort under the direction of the Geyer-Quillin Funeral Home. Graveside masonic rites were in charge of Dallas Lodge no. 128. Pallbearers were Jerry Turix, Joe Vanderbilt, Arnold Lunsford, Guy Selvidge, Curtis Callahan and Alfred Thomas.

Mr. Gentry grew up in the Hatton and Vandervoort areas and was united in marriage to Miss Easter Broomfield on May 22, 1922 at Vandervoort. They moved to Louisiana in 1923 where he worked as an engine operator and carpenter for the Skelly Oil Company. He retired at Skelllytown, Texas in 1963 and returned to Mena where he spent the remainder of his life. Mr. Gentry was a member of the Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas Masonic Lodge and the Mena Eastern Star Chapter No. 243.

Survivors are his wife Easter Gentry of Mena; two sons, Oather Lee (Shirley) Gentry of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Louis (Bette) Gentry of Mena; three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Cain of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mrs. Elouise (Bill) Hughes and Mrs. Maxine (Graley) Malone both of Pampa, Texas; two brothers, Bill Gentry of Kirbyville, Texas and Jack Gentry of Pueblo, Colorado; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren
