The Funeral of Captain Moore.
The remains of the late Captain Samuel W. Moore were escorted to the Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore Railroad Company’s station, at Philadelphia, from the residence of his sister, Mrs. James C. Pusey, on Silverton avenue, West Philadelphia, by a delegation from the McLean Post, G. A. R., of Reading, Pa., of which Mr. Moore was a member in good standing. Through some misunderstanding members of the G. A. R. of Wilmington were not notified to meet the remains at Philadelphia and they were brought to this city by some of the Pall bearers, arriving here about 4 p. m. yesterday. At the station numerous friends were in waiting with hearse and carriages. The pall bearers were: A. D. Warner of Charles Warner & Co., Thomas Culbert and J. Horace Randolph, formerly associated with Captain Moore in the Wilmington post office, Edward J. White of Smyth Post, G. A. R., and A. P. Osmond and William O’Connor of DuPont Post. The casket was opened at the gate house of Riverview cemetery, where the interment took place, to give his friends here a last view of their deceased friend. Adam J. Schrack, Thomas S. Pugh, Joseph Luffy, George H. Jackson and other post employees were in attendance.
